Florida Man Suffocated Baby to Play Xbox, Police Say
Police say man told them he suffocated baby and then played Xbox and watched 'Fringe.'
Homosassa, Florida – A man was charged with murder after police say he suffocated his one-year-old son for video game time.
Cody Wygant, 24, was charged with third-degree murder. Investigators said Wygant told them he was frustrated that his 1-year-old son Daymeon was crying at 1 a.m. and placed his hand over the baby's mouth for three or four minutes, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
The newspaper reported that Wygant told police that he then placed the boy in a playpen, covered him completely with bedding and then tucked him in a way that did not allow the boy to get fresh air.
Wygant then played Xbox and watched three episodes of 'Fringe,' CBS News reported. Wygant did not check on the boy for a period of five hours.
