Murder Warrant Issued in Bradenton Woman's Death

Authorities have named Jazmin Catano's former boyfriend as the prime suspect in her death. Now they need to track him down.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office has a prime suspect in the killing of 30-year-old Jazmin Catano, whose body was found in the bedroom of her home.

The Sheriff's Office announced Friday that an arrest warrant has been issued for Andres Collazos, the victim's ex-boyfriend, who's believed to have fled to South America.

Detectives say that he may have fled the country on the same day that the victim's body was found.

At approximately midnight on Sunday, June 23, deputies responded to suspicious circumstances at 5960 36th St. W., Bradenton. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the body of Catano.

Detectives say that they have gathered enough evidence to charge Collazos with murder, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported on Friday.

A judge has sealed the warrant for investigative reasons. Information contained in the warrant could hamper the case if released to the public, according to a statement from authorities.
