Man Booked for Attempted Murder After Allegedly Beating, Burning Bradenton Woman and Daughter

The following is a news release from the Bradenton Police Department:

On Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Bradenton Police Officers responded to a residence located in the 500 block of 12th Avenue West, to investigate a complaint of an Aggravated Battery. During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect, later identified as Mr. Brandon Jerome Randolph, 25 YOA, B/M, of Palmetto Florida, and his girlfriend had been involved in an argument, which turned physical. Mr. Randolph battered the victim several times, which caused her to temporally lose her vision. The victim called out to her daughter to call 9-1-1. When the daughter attempted to make the call, Mr. Randolph prevented her from doing so. He then pulled her outside and over to a small bonfire at which time he held her face extremely close to it, while threatening her life. Mr. Randolph then released the daughter, who was then able to call for assistance. Mr. Randolph then returned to the original residence and after picking up a can of gasoline, he doused the interior of the residence along with the victim with gas, and threatened to light the gasoline, but instead fled from the residence.

The first victim suffered from serious lacerations on her face as a result from being punched multiple times by the suspect. The second victim was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room where she was treated for burns to her face and arms.
