Bradenton Man Killed in Home Invasion
A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with two home invasions and a homicide that occurred at the 2200 block of 15th Ave. East in Bradenton, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Officers responded to the area around 2:24 a.m. on Sunday to investigate an abandoned 911 call, according to a report.
When they arrived Juan Enrique Medina, 49, of the 2200 block of 15th St. E., was pronounced deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Two families in two separate residences on the block said they were victims of an armed home invasion robbery, the report said. Medina and another male victim who had been outside at the time of the home invasion robberies, were confronted by the suspect as he fled the area, a report states.
During the physical confrontation, the suspect struck one victim in the head with a handgun, and then proceeded to shoot Medina.
Detectives arrested Ronnie Bundrage Jr., 2100 block of 16th Ave. East, as possibly being involved in the armed home invasions, he was taken into custody without incident. The Detectives are continuing their investigation of this incident and further charges may be forthcoming.
