Bradenton Man Hit By Police Car

The man was taken to Blake Hospital and is listed in serious condition.

A 29-year-old Bradenton man was taken to Blake Hospital and is in seriouse condition this morning after he was hit by a Bradenton Police cruiser, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Ryan White, 29, is in serious condition after he got out of his car, which had been involved in an accident, and started to walk across the street as the police officer was driving east on State Road 64.

Bradenton Police Officer Nicholaos Gianitsis, 44, was heading east on State Road 64 East of 48th Street Court East. White was the passenger involved in a single vehicle crash on State Road 64 and his car was blocking the inside lane.

White, who was in the front passenger seat got out of the car and started across State Road 64. The police officer saw White and steered to the right to avoid hitting White, but the right front of the police car hit the pedestrian.
