Around 5:15 p.m. police were notified of the body that had apparently washed ashore next to the seawall.

Police said this does not appear to be related to the case of the missing boater in Manatee County earlier this week. The Coast Guard gave up its active search for Patrick Mullins on Wednesday. The Coast Guard found his empty boat, a white 16 foot Stump Knocker, in the water near the mouth of Tampa Bay close to Egmont Key on Monday.
