Crash Leaves 77-year-old in Critical Condition

The woman was broadsided after she didn't see an oncoming car and pulled out from a stop sign onto U.S. 41.

a 77-year-old Palmetto woman is in critical condition after she pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle at an intersection Monday night.

Suzanne Addazio was flown to Bayfront Hospital where she is listed in critical condition. The passenger and driver in the other vehicle involved in the crash both sustained minor injuries.

Addazio, who was driving a Chrysler Sebring, was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Lakeside Boulevard and U.S. 41 shortly after 9 p.m. Monday.

Hubert J. Morel, 54, was driving his Toyota Camry south on U.S. 41 in the right lane and approaching Lakeside Boulevard. Addazio did not see the Camry and pulled onto U.S. 41. Morel couldn't stop in time and broadsided the Sebring. No skid marks were found at the scene.

The Sebring rotated clockwise striking the Camry's rear right side with its rear left side. The Sebring came to final rest in the southwest portion of the intersection facing southwest. Morel and Raquel Morel, 52, both of Apopka, sustained minor injuries. Hubert Morel was taken to Blake Medical Center.
