Sarasota, Florida – October 9, 2013 – Jill Gass, Executive Director of We Care Manatee, was named a finalist in the Clinical Professional – Non-Physician category of the 2013 Health Care Heroes Awards. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on Thursday, October 17th at The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club at 501 5th Avenue Northeast, St. Petersburg from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

The Tampa Bay Business Journal's Health Care Heroes Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have a significant impact on the quality of health care in their community. Awards are presented in the following categories: Community Outreach, Health Care Educator, Health Care Innovation and Research, Medical Professional - Non-Physician, Non-Acute Care Professional, Physician, Team, Veterinarian, Volunteer, Lifetime Achievement and Philanthropist of the Year. All finalists will be honored on stage for their contributions to care. Special event keynote speaker Rick Homans, President and CEO of Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, will headline the event with MediFuture 2024: Envisioning the health care ecosystem of the future, and providing the road map to reach it.

 

Serving as the Executive Director of We Care Manatee since 2008, Jill Gass has improved operations, introduced new levels of care provided by the organization, and worked to ensure that those who depend on We Care Manatee for much-needed assistance have a pleasant experience. “I am deeply honored to have been recognized alongside so many wonderful, caring professionals and organizations in our community,” said Gass. “Being included in the selection as a finalist truly signals that my constant efforts to provide care and excellent services have made a difference.”
