Manatees Sports Grill Opens

There will be a breast cancer research benefit at Last Call and fireworks after the Saturday Marauders game.

has shut its doors after five years, but its successor was up and running June 1.

Mannatees Sports Grill, 7423 Manatee Ave. W., blends family dinner with nightlife with its full lunch and dinner options and 20 beers on tap for the late-night crowd. An impressive list of imports and microbrews includes Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, Left Hand Milk Stout, Rouge Hazelnut Brown Nectar, Konga Longboard Lager, Abita Purple Haze and Bells Oberon.

Happy Hour is 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily featuring 20-ounce domestic drafts for $2.75, $3 wells, $4 calls (Bacardi, Beefeater, J&B Scotch, Cuervo, Smirnoff, Jim Beam, etc.) and $3 wines (Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pino Grigio, White Zin).

  • Here’s a relatively new place that might be just a tad outside of what we call Bradenton, but with live music and enticing drink specials, it’s hard to ignore. The CaddyShak Sports Bar & Grille, 6600 River Club Blvd., in Lakewood Ranch, has $2 pints, $4 wells and $4 wines and $6 premiums all night after 8 p.m. Live music Friday from The Distractions.
  • , 2604 Manatee Ave. E., has a full day Saturday starting with a creast cancer awareness party from noon to 6 p.m. with live music at 1 p.m. from Jimmy Reagan and 4 p.m. from Billy Rice Band. Admission is $3 per person at the door and includes a free draft beer. There will be a number of games and prizes at the party, including a raffle, dunk tank, cornhole, horseshoes, darts and food. Must be 21 to attend. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Last Call will host a Triple Crown Watch Party featuring $10 buckets of domestic beer.
