FPL Makes the Holidays Brighter for a Soldier’s Family

Army Specialist Taylor Livingston received a holiday surprise from FPL volunteers who had decorated his family's home with thousands of L.E.D. holiday lights.

For the fourth year, FPL provided a holiday surprise for a member of the military.

More than a dozen volunteers from FPL spent hours on Friday stringing lights and setting up holiday decorations at the home of Army Specialist Taylor Livingston a couple weeks before Christmas. The surprise was just in time for Livingston, 21, who was arriving home for the holidays.

By the time the FPL “elves” had finished their work, Livingston's parents home sparkled with energy efficient L.E.D. Christmas lights.

David and Sandy Livingston looked forward to their son's return on Friday. Taylor Livingston joined the Army at the age of 19, and has been serving in Afghanistan since 2010. Because he is home briefly for the holidays, FPL provided Livingston, and his family, with this holiday makeover and early holiday gift so they can benefit from energy savings for years to come.

Livingston will be deployed again at the start of 2013 for a second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
