Three people remain hospitalized following a shooting at a Palmetto nightclub that left two people dead and 22 wounded after at least two people shot into and around the night club.
Stacey Walker, 44, of Bradenton is at Bayfront Medical Center in good condition. Michelle Stuart, 40, also remains hospitalized at Bayfront Medical Center in fair condition. Marie Williams, 26, is at Manatee Memorial Hospital in fair condition.
Gwenette Matthews, 38 of Bradenton, was found dead inside the club and Trayon Goff, 25 of Palmetto, was found dead outside of the club’s front door, according to a Palmetto Police Department report.
The weapons used were 5.56 and 7.62 caliber rifles, according to the police report. A handgun caliber shell casing was also recovered. The 5.56 and 7.62 caliber rifles are typically known as assault rifles. AK-47s use 7.62 caliber rounds.
Nineteen people taken to area hospitals following the Saturday morning shooting at Club Elite have been released, according to reports.

While victims were treated at Manatee Memorial, the hospital was on lockdown, a routine whenever the hospital treats gun shot wounds. For about an hour it had to divert emergency room patients to other area hospitals.
Palmetto investigators continue to follow leads in this case. It is believed that early Saturday morning, at least two persons opened fire on the front of Club Elite, killing two and injuring another 22.

Callers may remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward. The Gold Star Club of Manatee County have also offered an additional $10,000.00 reward.
