Bradenton Homicide Under Investigation

A man was found suffering from "head trauma" Wednesday morning, according to Bradenton Police.

Bradenton Police are investigating the death of a man found with "severe trauma to the head" as a homicide, officials said Wednesday.

Officers were called to the residence in the 1900 block of Seventh Street East around 9:15 a.m. for a medical emergency complaint.

There, they found 23-year-old Michael C. Wesley suffering from a head wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

"Due to the circumstances," detectives and the Manatee Homicide Investigative Unit are treating the incident as a homicide, Deputy Chief Warren Merriman said in a media release.

It would be the fifth homicide in the City of Bradenton this year.
