The Bradenton man was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from his bike.
A 44-year-old Bradenton man was critically injured Wednesday morning, when he rode his bike into the direct path of a Ford F-150, at the intersection of US 41 and State Road 684, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Mark Andrew Saba, 44, was not wearing a safety helmet and was thrown from his bike, when it was hit by the left front end of the Ford, which was driven by 42-year-old Johnny L. Anderson, also of Bradenton. Florida Highway Patrol troopers will be on the lookout for impaired drivers this weekend.
Drunk drivers beware: The Florida Highway Patrol will be conducting a DUI patrol Friday night, May 17, in Manatee County. The FHP's "DUI Wolfpack Detail" will take place from 7 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday, officials said. Troopers will be on the lookout for impaired drivers. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office conducted its own DUI patrol last weekend, resulting in three arrests and 31 citations. A vehicle that failed to stop in time triggered a three-car crash on U.S. 301.
A three-vehicle accident on U.S. 301 Monday left two drivers seriously injured and a 13-year-old passenger with minor injuries, according to the Florida Highway Partrol. Robert Shay Henry, 45, of Bradenton and Aquilla McGuire Walker, 41, of Palmetto both suffered serious injuries. Maquia Walker, 13, a passenger in Aquilla's car, had minor injuries. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when Henry failed to stop his 2005 Isuzu in time, as Walker slowed down her 2009 Chevrolet in traffic on U.S. 301 near 15th Street East. Henry's Isuzu slammed into the back of Walker's Chevrolet. The impact caused the Chevrolet to hit a 2004 Ford driver by 51-year-old Margaret Duffy of Sarasota. Duffy was not injured in the crash. …

The truck driver lost control and plunged over the J.D. Young Bridge early Thursday morning near the Ellenton Premium Outlets.
All lanes of Interstate 75 are open and a truck driver is in stable condition after a beer truck crashed into the concrete retaining wall of a bridge and landed in the Manatee River, authorities said Thursday morning. The tractor trailer was headed north on I-75 at the J.D. Young Bridge, which crosses the river near the Ellenton Premium Outlets, around 4:30 a.m. when the driver lost control, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. The driver, 40-year-old Kevin Dennison, of Largo, was standing on top of the cab as the vehicle was partially submerged in the water when emergency personnel arrived, FOX 13 Tampa Bay reports. Unknown car left the scene of the crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a vehicle that left the scene of a crash Tuesday afternoon that injured three people on southbound U.S. 301 north of University Parkway. The unknown vehicle on southbound U.S. 301 in Manatee County approached University Parkway in the right lane around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, and changed into the left lane directly into the path of a 2003 Saturn Ion, according to Highway Patrol. The driver of the Saturn, Shonise Tierra Domino, 24, of Sarasota, swerved to avoid a crash with the car, but lost control and drove into a ditch in the median, according to Highway Patrol. The Nissan Quest plowed into a storage building after drifting across the center median and lanes on 14th Street West.
A 22-year-old Bradenton man died in an early morning crash Thursday, after his Nissan drifted across several lanes and into a storage building. Matthew Lance Daley was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. According to FHP, his Nissan Quest was traveling south on 14th Street West just before 6 a.m. Thursday. As it approached the 14th Street West intersection, the vehicle drifted across the center media and the northbound lanes, then onto the east shoulder. The vehicle plowed into a storage building at 3601 14th St. West. The accident is under investigation. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

Sergio Montiel of Bradenton was on southbound Interstate 75 near Venice when his Ford truck rolled over.
A Bradenton man is being treated for serious injuries after his tire blew out on southbound Interstate 75 Monday afternoon. Sergio Montiel was near mile marker 194, near Venice, when the rear right tire blew on his 1994 Ford Ranger just before 1 p.m., according to Florida Highway Patrol. Montiel, 25, failed to control his truck, veering across the right lane and flipped his truck several times, leading him off the interstate on the west shoulder, according to Highway Patrol. Montiel was transported to Venice Regional Medical Center for his injuries, and is also charges for not having a driver's license and for careless driving, according to Highway Patrol.

The 65-year-old woman was killed when a truck traveling north drove into the southbound lane and hit her car.
A head-on collision in Manatee has killed a 65-year-old driver from Port Charlotte, according to state police. Mary Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday, after her Nissan collided with a Ford pickup. The crash occurred just north of Wauchula Road on State Road 37. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pickup was traveling north but suddenly applied the brakes and drove into the southbound lane and oncoming traffic. The truck, driven by 38-year-old Jason Dearth of Parrish, collided head-on with Perkins' vehicle. The pickup truck caught fire after the crash. Dearth was airlifted to an area hospital. His injuries are described as serious. Police are considering charges in the accident.

A Bradenton driver attempting to turn onto 30th Street West apparently didn't see the oncoming motorcycle, according to Highway Patrol.
A 21-year-old Bradenton man is dead after his motorcycle crashed into a turning SUV Wednesday night on State Route 684. Update Friday 8 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol released the name of the man killed in the crash, he is Adrian Cuebero. The motorcyclist, whose name wasn't immediately available, rode his 2003 Yamaha motorcycle on eastbound 684 when a Ford Explorer on westbound SR 684 attempted a left turn onto 30th Street West, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The driver of the Explorer didn't see the motorcycle when turning, and the motorcycle crashed into the right side of the Explorer, causing the motorcyclist to be ejected from the bike, striking the hood and windshield of the Explorer, and landing on SR 684, according to …

Florida Highway Patrol issued 15 warnings and one citation Friday night to Bradenton pedestrians along a stretch of U.S. 41
Florida Highway Patrol is trying to crack down on jaywalkers as well as car drivers having little regard for pedestrians and bicyclists in Bradenton. Highway Patrol launched phase one of Operation Pedestrian Education and Enforcement Detail, or PEDS, on Friday, March 1, on U.S. 41 between State Road 70 and Bayshore Gardens Parkway. The operation lasted from 6 to 10 p.m. Highway Patrol has released its results from the four-hour operation: Highway Patrol in 2012 investigated 12 pedestrian fatality crashes in Manatee County.
