Bradenton Woman in Running For $1 Million Bake-Off
If JoAnn Belack's recipe for Italian Brunch Stratas gets enough votes, she'll be headed back to the finals of the Pillsbury Bake-Off.
Bradenton's JoAnn Belack got a taste of the limelight as a finalist in the 2010 Pillsbury Bake-Off. Now, she's doing everything she can to get back there. Belack is again in the running for the prestigious baking contest, held every other year, and its $1 million grand prize. Her recipe for Italian Brunch Stratas is going head-to-head with another entry in online voting that runs through next Thursday. "I've gone to lots of friends and family, all my Facebook friends, written a zillion e-mails," Belack said Wednesday morning as she was driving around to all of the places she shops, handing out homemade color signs and business cards to drum up support.
