An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a Bradenton man at an apartment complex last month, Bradenton Police reported Tuesday. Jerry Green, 26, was arrested at around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday on an active warrant for first-degree murder in the April 1 shooting of Carlos A. Jurado. Jurado, 29, was was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds that evening at Sheridan Place Apartments, 302 26th Ave. W., police said. Bradenton apartment complex Monday evening, police said. Authorities are treating the case as a homicide after finding a body that had suffered trauma.
Authorities are investigating a possible homicide after a body was found at the Citrus Meadows Apartments early Wednesday morning in Bradenton. Bradenton Police responded around 2:50 a.m. to playground area of the complex at 1525 21st St. E. and found a body that had suffered trauma, according to a news release from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. The victim was identified as Damen Gilbert, 20, a sheriff's office spokesperson said. The sheriff's homicide investigation unit is looking into the case. A 17-year-old is accused of killing a 19-year-old in a shooting at a Manatee Avenue gas station.
A 17-year-old was arrested in the shooting death of a local 19-year-old, the first homicide of the new year. Danny Waiters, 17, was arrested in the Jan. 1 shooting death of Paul Grieco, 19, at the Chevron Gas Station at 1832 Manatee Ave. E. On Jan. 1 around 8:30 p.m., Waiters was at the gas station with two other men for what detectives believe was a drug-related transaction, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. Detectives are withholding the names of the two other at this time. The 31-year-old was killed while driving his car in what appears to be a random act of violence.
A 31-year-old Bradenton man was killed early this morning in a shooting at the intersection of 27th Street East and 13th Avenue East. Rene Salinas, 31, was stopped at the intersection in his vehicle and attempting to turn north on 27th Street East at about 3 a.m. when someone shot him from a vehicle that was traveling west, according to a Bradenton Police report. A passenger in Salinas's vehicle described the suspect vehicle as a light colored, 4-door sedan, which continued west on 13th Avenue East. The passenger was not hurt, but Salinas, who was shot once, was pronounced dead at the scene. A couple spotted the 62-year-old woman's body in Palmetto, when they were out for an early morning walk.
The body of a woman found by the side of the road Thursday in Palmetto has been identified as 62-year-old Bernadette Phicien. Her death is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. According to the Bradenton Herald, Phicien – a grandmother of eight – had been beaten to death and was found in her night clothes. The newspaper reported that Phicien, who was originally from Haiti, worked at West Coast Tomato as a produce picker and loved her job. A couple on their morning walk discovered the woman's body in the 2900 block of 24th Ave. E., Palmetto, at about 6:15 a.m. Thursday. The police investigation into Sheena Morris' hanging death will be re-opened, Bradenton Beach Police said Friday. Bay News 9 is reporting that the Bradenton Beach Police Department agreed to open the case again after a state law enforcement panel recommended it. Morris, 22, was found hanging in a Bradenton Beach hotel room on Jan. 1, 2009. Although local police ruled her death a suicide, the family has lobbied for addition investigation, believing it may have been foul play. Bradenton Police found a person shot to death at the wheel of a car sitting in the middle of the 24th Street East early this morning, according to a Bradenton Police report. Police were responding to a report of gun shots at 2:30 a.m. when they found the car and its driver already dead in the 600 block of 24th Street East. Detectives are still working to verify the victim's identity. Detectives are investigating the case as a homicide. They are looking for information about the shooting and any possible suspects. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office has determined that a woman found dead in her apartment Thursday was a victim of homicide. Regina Nunez, 23, was discovered dead in her Bayshore Lakes Apartment, 4203 24th St W., Thursday afternoon. Nunez's mother found the body after she went by to check on her daughter when she did not answer the phone. The sheriff's department said at the time that they were investigating the death but that there were no signs of trauma to the body. An autopsy revealed that the death was a homicide, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. The Sheriff's Office is not releasing a cause of death. Detectives have issued an arest warrant for the man suspected of killing 32-year-old Natividad Faudoa.
Detectives have issued an arrest warrant for a 23-year-old suspect in last week's homicide in the parking lot at DaVinci's nightclub. The Manatee Sheriff's Office is searching for Javier Aguilar on charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Aguilar is 5-feet-9-inches tall, 220 pounds, bald and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, tan shorts and driving a 2005 Ford F150 King Ranch white over gray with a sun roof and tan interior. Aguilar is accused of shooting Natividad Faudoa, 32, just after midnight Saturday in the parking lot of DaVinci's nightclub, according to a sheriff's report. Deputies are asking for help in solving the case.
A Bradenton man was shot to death in the parking lot of a Shell Gas Station, 836 301 Blvd. E., this morning. Ruben Harris, 29, was found dead in the parking lot after deputies were called out to the gas station after the shooting. Detectives believe Harris was involved in an altercation at DaVinci’s Nightclub, 105 Cortez Rd W., earlier in the morning and that may have led to the shooting. The person has been described as a regular at the club and is known by the name B-Low. Deputies believe he drives a light colored Dodge Magnum.
