Goodwill Manasota's 30,000-square-foot store opened Tuesday evening to shoppers.
Like a good neighbor, Goodwill is there. Goodwill Manasota might want to borrow the State Farm jingle for its new all-in-one store on the North Trail called the Peggy & Don Roberts Good Neighbor Center, named after the retired chief executive and his wife Peggy, the also retired president of housing for the organization. The store, 5150 N. Tamiami Trail, had its grand opening Tuesday evening to shoppers and supporters, and the 30,000 square feet features more than just clothes, furniture and jewelry. "We're all victims of this crime. These thieves are preying on the good will of the Sarasota-Manatee community by stealing from a nonprofit that helps thousands …

The newly opened Clearance Center features 50 percent off everything, every day.
The Goodwill philosophy of “a hand up, not a hand out” is alive in Bradenton and updating as it opens its newest project, the Goodwill Clearance Store. Located at 5138 Cortez Rd. W. (a previous traditional Goodwill store) in West Bradenton, the Clearance Store offers merchandise at a reduced 50 percent off all merchandise, all the time. On a recent weekday, the parking lot was full with a steady stream of shoppers entering the front door. “Because of the economy, we decided to offer sales every day of 50 percent off,” said Luanne Kirschner, communications director of Goodwill Manasota. “We have redone the signage inside and outside in red and white rather than the traditional blue and white to denote the designation of clearance.” …
