The Fresh Market in Bradenton will host a cupcake decorating event today, May 18, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Customers can decorate cupcakes and all sales proceeds will benefit "No Kid Hungry to support its efforts to end childhood hunger in America."

Construction of a new Fresh Market is under way in the Northwest Promenade, at the corner of 67th Street and Manatee Avenue West. “Fresh Markets is hoping for a mid-fall opening,” said Todd Mathes. “It will be upscale, to attract the higher incomes on or near the water.” Mathes directs development for Benderson Development, a Manatee-based private company with investments in 34 states. The company builds new retail spaces, renovates existing shopping centers and develops hotels. The store will include a bakery and what it describes as an “old-style butcher shop,” plus a seafood market. I am really looking forward to this. I seen this store when me and my mom went to Anna Marie island. I want to go there for organic food mostly. I found out by visiting 3 Twins Ice Cream that this store carries their ice cream and I want to go there for that. I like the fact that you can get gourmet coffee and drink it in the store.
