Detectives are investigating this morning's robbery.
A man got away with an undisclosed amount of money during a bank robbery this morning at First Bank, 415 53rd Ave West. At about 9:20 a.m. a man walked into First Bank and gave the teller a note demanding money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40’s, around 6-feet tall, with a thin build and short hair, was wearing dark blue shorts and a dark colored polo shirt. He walked out of the bank and drove away in a pick-up truck. His vehicle is believed to be a late model black or brown Ford pick-up truck with an extended tail gate and tinted windows. Dennis R. Perry, 60, lives in a mobile home park across the street from the Cortez Road West bank, according to the sheriff's office.
A Bradenton man has confessed to Friday's robbery at First Bank after several calls from residents led investigators to him, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported. Dennis R. Perry, 60, a resident of the Orange Grove Mobile Park across the street from the bank at 2412 Cortez Road West, was arrested Sunday after several residents saw his picture in surveillance footage and contacted the sheriff's office. When Perry gave investigators permission to look inside his trailer, according to a news release, they found money, sunglasses, a black hat and black shoes with white stripes that matched the description of the suspect during Friday's robbery, in which a man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. First Bank, 4601 Manatee Ave. W., was robbed Tuesday by a man with a note, the sheriff's office said.
A Manatee Avenue West bank was robbed Tuesday morning, and the suspect is still on the loose, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said First Bank, 4601 Manatee Ave. W., was robbed at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday and that the suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money. A witness told officers he saw the suspect run south on 46th Street West and go between two houses in the 600 block, according to Road Patrol Lt. William Vitaioli of the sheriff's office. Sheriff's deputies and K9 units searched the home and found a white shirt in the front yard that matched the description of what the suspect was wearing, Vitaioli said.
