A 17-year-old is accused of killing a 19-year-old in a shooting at a Manatee Avenue gas station.
A 17-year-old was arrested in the shooting death of a local 19-year-old, the first homicide of the new year. Danny Waiters, 17, was arrested in the Jan. 1 shooting death of Paul Grieco, 19, at the Chevron Gas Station at 1832 Manatee Ave. E. On Jan. 1 around 8:30 p.m., Waiters was at the gas station with two other men for what detectives believe was a drug-related transaction, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. Detectives are withholding the names of the two other at this time. According to the sheriff's report: Grieco, Brandon Keisel, 20, and Dillan Contreras, 20 drove to the gas station where they were approached by Waiters. Deputies were called out after the 68-year-old man spoke to his neighbor about his wife's shooting death.
A West Bradenton man was charged with murder Monday night, after deputies were called out to his home in the 2300 block of 45th Court West, where his wife had been shot and killed. Thomas P. Fleming, 68, was standing outside of the house at 7 p.m. when deputies arrived, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. When deputies searched the house they found Claire Fleming, 67, dead from a gunshot wound. The Bradenton Herald reported that Fleming is a former Bradenton police officer. The Herald-Tribune reported that Fleming told deputies they should "just kill him." The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested a suspect wanted on murder charges for a fatal shooting at a Shell Gas Station in April. Deputies have been searching for Earl Scott, 32, in a 3:20 a.m. shooting the that left Ruben Harris, 29, dead. The U.S, Marshals office arrested Scott this morning. Detectives believe Harris and Scott were involved in an altercation at DaVinci’s Nightclub, 105 Cortez Rd W., earlier that morning and that may have led to the shooting. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Scott on charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in May. At this time, it’s unknown when Scott will be returned to Manatee County.

Deputies are investigating links to a stolen vehicle and a report of shots fired.
A 22-year-old man died Sunday night from a gunshot that went throough his arm and traveled through his torso. The man was one of two dropped off with gun shot wounds at Manatee Memorial Hospital at 10 p.m. Sunday, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. Ernest T. Curry, 22, who was shot once in the right arm and the bullet passed through his torso, was pronounced dead at 10:51 p.m, according to the report. Haywood Edouard, 22, was also dropped off at the hospital with a gun shot wound in his shoulder. Detectives believe the shooting happened in the 600 block of 26th Avenue East where residents reported hearing shots fired. The Gold Star Club is offering a $5,000 reward for information in the case of a 17-year-old who was killed this month
The Gold Star Club of Manatee County, Inc. is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in last month's murder of a 17-year-old. The reward is in addition to $1,000 Crimestoppers is offering, bringing the total reward to $6,000 for information and subsequent conviction of the suspect who shot and killed Frederick L. Edwards the evening of July 14. Edwards' was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and later died over the weekend. The case was classified as a homicide. A 17-year-old who was shot in the head Saturday night has died. Fredrick L. Edwards, of Bradenton, was taken to the hospital Saturday night with a gunshot wound to the head. He died over the weekend and the case has been classified as a homicide. Bradenton police answered an emergency call about a shooting shortly after 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue East. When they arrived, officers discovered that the victim had been taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital's Emergency Room and that an unidentified person had dropped off the victim and then left the hospital.
