Complaints of a reckless driver, who was weaving all over the roadway on I-75 near Moccasin Wallow, led to the arrest of 34-year old driver from Riverview.
A 34-year-old Riverview woman was arrested on her second DUI charge after drivers on Interstate-75 near Mocassain Wallow Road called authorities to say she was weaving and driving erratically. After a three-mile chase, sometimes at speeds as slow as 20 miles per hour, deputies arrested Brenda Lee Lorenzo, 34, of Riverview, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. According to the report: Manatee County deputies responded to several citizen complaints of a reckless driver, who was weaving all over the roadway on I-75 near Moccasin Wallow at around 10:40 p.m. Friday. A woman led deputies on a chase through Bradenton at about 3 a.m. after they tried to pull her over as she rolled into an intersection while slumped over the wheel of her car, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. Dede Clark, 56, was arrested Wednesday on charges of Driving Under the Influence and Fleeing to Elude. Deputies were stopped at Cortez Road and 14th Street West when they saw a Chevy truck facing north on 14th Street at the light. The truck began slowly entering the intersection, against a red signal. Once the truck began impeding eastbound Cortez Road traffic, a Deputy moved in behind it and called out the traffic stop. He then activated his lights, but the truck continued barely moving. Maybe he thought he was stopping for a traffic check or maybe it was just the end of a tough weekend that just got tougher after a man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and drug possession after he blocked in officers working a traffic accident. Deputies from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office were assisting the Florida Highway Patrol with an accident at about 11:20 p.m. Sunday in the 5100 block of U.S. 301 when Thomas Buick drove up to patrol cars with their lights flashing and blocked the accident scene, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report.
