a 77-year-old Palmetto woman is in critical condition after she pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle at an intersection Monday night. Suzanne Addazio was flown to Bayfront Hospital where she is listed in critical condition. The passenger and driver in the other vehicle involved in the crash both sustained minor injuries. Addazio, who was driving a Chrysler Sebring, was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Lakeside Boulevard and U.S. 41 shortly after 9 p.m. Monday. Hubert J. Morel, 54, was driving his Toyota Camry south on U.S. 41 in the right lane and approaching Lakeside Boulevard. Addazio did not see the Camry and pulled onto U.S. 41. An 82-year-old man was killed Monday in when his homemade ultralight aircraft crashed off of Buckeye Road and Grass Farm Road in north Manatee County, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. James Richard Clendenon was already dead when deputies responded to the crash at about 4:35 p.m. Monday. According to the sheriff's report, Clendenon took off from Airport Manatee located on U.S. 41 in Palmetto. The Federal Aviation Administration will not investigate the crash because the aircraft was a homemade experimental ultralight.

Deputies won't release the pilot's name until his next of kin are notified.
The pilot of an ultralight aircraft died this afternoon when he apparently crashed his homemade plane off of Buckeye Road and Grass Farm Road in north Manatee County, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. Deputies responded to the crash at about 4:35 p.m. today and reported that the pilot was dead when they arrived. According to the sheriff's report, the pilot toof off from Airport Manatee located on U.S. 41 in Palmetto. The sheriff's office is withholding the pilot's name pending notification of his next of kin. The Federal Aviation Administration will not investigate the crash because the aircraft was a homemade experimental ultralight.

The woman is at Blake Medical Center's trauma center in stable condition after overturning her car.
A Sarasota woman suspected of DUI is recovering at Blake Trauma Center after she led deputies on a high speed chase along State Road 70 and crashed her car in a ditch, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report. Michelle Haddad, 30, Marlin Lakes Circle in Sarasota, was listed in stable condition this morning at Blake Hospital. According to a Manatee County Sheriff's report: Deputy Mark Pearson saw Haddad run a stop light at Lakewood Ranch Boulevard and State Road 70 shortly before Midnight Monday. She was heading east on State Road 70, going about 65 miles per hour. Pearson tried to catch up to Haddad when he saw her vehicle swerve across three lanes. A Ford Explorer full of teens escaped injury after the 17-year-old driver crashed damaging property at King James Big and Tall Saturday afternoon. Florida Highway Patrol responded to the King James store, 4333 S Tamiami Trail, at 3:36 p.m., for a crash that damaged signs, landscaping, a sprinkler system and a retention wall at the store. A Bradenton teenaged boy driving the Explorer had apparently started to fall asleep at the wheel when the crash occurred, according to Highway Patrol. The teen is charged with careless driving, according to Highway Patrol.
