Three Injured In Car Crash at US 301/University Pkwy

Unknown car left the scene of the crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a vehicle that left the scene of a crash Tuesday afternoon that injured three people on southbound U.S. 301 north of University Parkway. The unknown vehicle on southbound U.S. 301 in Manatee County approached University Parkway in the right lane around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, and changed into the left lane directly into the path of a 2003 Saturn Ion, according to Highway Patrol. The driver of the Saturn, Shonise Tierra Domino, 24, of Sarasota, swerved to avoid a crash with the car, but lost control and drove into a ditch in the median, according to Highway Patrol. Bradenton Couple Killed in Kentucky Crash

Brent and Julia Robinson are among five people who died in the head-on collision on Christmas Eve.

A Bradenton couple was killed on Christmas Eve in a car accident in Kentucky that claimed the lives of five people, according to media reports. Julia Robinson, 29, and Brent Robinson, 30, died when the vehicle they were traveling in was struck head-on by a car that lost control on U.S. 25E in Knox County, according to ABC. Brent was the son of retired Major League baseball player, Don Robinson, and Rhonda Robinson of Bradenton. Brent was a 2001 graduate of Manatee High, where he was a standout baseball player. Also killed in the crash were Julia's parents, Gary and Patricia Caldwell of Putney, Ky., according to the Herald Tribune. Hummer Overturns On University Parkway

Florida Highway Patrol says the driver overcorrected his steering when his Hummer drove onto the shoulder.

A 37-year-old Sarasota man is being treated for serious injuries after his Hummer overturned on University Parkway Monday evening. Florida Highway Patrol responded to the single-car crash at 8:58 p.m. near University Parkway and Whitfield Avenue where thy found Douglas Wayne Cason inside his 2005 Hummer. The Hummer traveled eastbound on University Parkway in the right lane then veered off the road onto the grassy shoulder that contained a culvert, according to Highway Patrol. As the Hummer entered the culvert, the driver attempted to steer back onto the road, but overcorrected, causing the right side tires to sink into the grass, causing the Hummer to flip multiple times before landing on its roof in the culvert, according to Highway …

Teen Falls Asleep At Wheel, Crashes Car

17-year-old Bradenton teen had four passengers in his SUV, and nobody was injured.

A Ford Explorer full of teens escaped injury after the 17-year-old driver crashed damaging property at King James Big and Tall Saturday afternoon. Florida Highway Patrol responded to the King James store, 4333 S Tamiami Trail, at 3:36 p.m., for a crash that damaged signs, landscaping, a sprinkler system and a retention wall at the store. A Bradenton teenaged boy driving the Explorer had apparently started to fall asleep at the wheel when the crash occurred, according to Highway Patrol. The teen is charged with careless driving, according to Highway Patrol. Other teens in the car included a 15-year-old Venice girl, a 17-year-old Venice girl, a 17-year-old Bradenton boy and another Sarasota male, whose age wasn't available, according to the …
