Wanted Man Leads Deputies on 90 mph Chase Through Bradenton

Authorities used "pursuit termination devices" to deflate all four tires on Marcus E. Miller's car early Tuesday morning.

A wanted Bradenton man who authorities say eluded capture several times this week was arrested following a 90 mph chase early Tuesday morning. Marcus E. Miller, 38, had been wanted for a felony warrant for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer as well as driving while license suspended/revoked, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. A deputy saw Miller shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday at 2500 1st St. E. in the same vehicle that authorities say he used to flee from them multiple times in the past week. When the deputy initiated a traffic stop Miller fled again, the sheriff's office reports. Bradenton Woman Shot By Sarasota Police During Pursuit

Car stolen in Manatee County found its way to Sarasota, leading Sarasota Police on a chase.

A Bradenton woman suspected in a car theft is recovering from two gunshot wounds from Sarasota Police Thursday morning after the suspect attempted to run down officers with the car. At 1:35 a.m. Thursday, police were told to be on the lookout by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office for a stolen black 2012 Nissan and at 1:57 a.m., officers spotted the car on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Central Avenue in Sarasota and attempted to stop the car. Instead of stopping the Nissan traveled north on Central Avenue, reached a dead end, turned around, struck a fence and at that time, several officers on the scene exited their patrol cars ordering the suspects out of the car, according to police. Deputies Pursue 14-year-old in Stolen Car

The pursuit went for two blocks after deputies tried to stop the car because it was missing a tire and driving on the rim.

Deputies arrested a 14-year-old on grand theft auto charges this morning after noticing that the car was missing a tire and the driver was riding on the rim. The teenager took deputies on a two block pursuit near Whitfield Avenue and Westmoreland Drive before he drove over a curb and got stuck in a yard. The pursut began when deputies attempted to stop the driver and the car briefly sped up and ran a stop sign, then misjudged a turn and ran over a curb into a yard. Deputies discovered that the white sedan was stolen earlier that night in Sarasota and that it belonged to Emmalina Cater, 25. The teenage driver was arrested, while a passenger in the car was detained.

Father and Son Team Arrested on Bank Robbery Charges

The pair are accused of robbing two Manatee County banks in May.

After leading law enforcement on a high speed chase in Sarasota, a father and son have been charged with two Manatee County bank robberies using a syringe. Brent Leroy Henson, 51, of Sarasota and his son Brandon Lee Henson, 18, also of Sarasota, have been charged with two counts of armed robbery. Bradenton Police Detective Greg Price who is assigned to the F.B.I.’s Violent Crimes Task Force received a tip over the weekend about the two Sarasota men involved in the two Manatee County bank robberies. The robber was armed with a syringe when he held up the Chase Bank in Bradenton on May 18 and the Iberia Bank in Manatee County on May 25.
