Authorities say the man robbed Bank of America on Cortez Road shortly after 11 a.m. Monday; within 10 minutes, he was pulled over and arrested.
Deputies apprehended a man Monday who they say minutes earlier robbed a Bradenton bank while armed with a large knife. The man parked his car in a handicapped parking spot in front of the Bank of America, 3401 Cortez Rd. W., around 11:03 a.m., the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports. He entered and informed tellers he was robbing the bank, showing them a large knife that had been partially concealed at his side, according to the report. The man demanded money and was handed over a small sum, authorities said. No one was injured. Detectives are investigating this morning's robbery.
A man got away with an undisclosed amount of money during a bank robbery this morning at First Bank, 415 53rd Ave West. At about 9:20 a.m. a man walked into First Bank and gave the teller a note demanding money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40’s, around 6-feet tall, with a thin build and short hair, was wearing dark blue shorts and a dark colored polo shirt. He walked out of the bank and drove away in a pick-up truck. His vehicle is believed to be a late model black or brown Ford pick-up truck with an extended tail gate and tinted windows. After leading law enforcement on a high speed chase in Sarasota, a father and son have been charged with two Manatee County bank robberies using a syringe. Brent Leroy Henson, 51, of Sarasota and his son Brandon Lee Henson, 18, also of Sarasota, have been charged with two counts of armed robbery. Bradenton Police Detective Greg Price who is assigned to the F.B.I.’s Violent Crimes Task Force received a tip over the weekend about the two Sarasota men involved in the two Manatee County bank robberies. Bradenton Police are looking for help in identifying a bank robber caught on video Friday at the Chase Bank, 4915 Manatee Avenue East. The bank was robbed on Friday after a man came into Chase Bank wearing a medical mask. He asked about opening a checking account. He then displayed a medical syringe with a liquid inside of it and demanded money from the teller while making threatening remarks towards the employees. The man fled the area with an undisclsed amount of cash. He is described as a white man, 6-feet tall, 150 to 160 pounds, with dark hair, wearing a white long-sleeved button down shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, white baseball cap, black sunglasses and a white medical mask. A Bradenton man has confessed to Friday's robbery at First Bank after several calls from residents led investigators to him, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported. Dennis R. Perry, 60, a resident of the Orange Grove Mobile Park across the street from the bank at 2412 Cortez Road West, was arrested Sunday after several residents saw his picture in surveillance footage and contacted the sheriff's office. After a day of searching for a bank robber, the Manatee County Sherrif's Office arrested Troy Sandifar for Tuesday's heist at First Bank. Manatee deputies say they got an unlikely tip, as Sandifar's wife, Afra Sandifar, is the one who turned him in after seeing security video of the robbery on the evening news. Troy Sandifar was watching it too, and he retrieved money from under a fake fireplace in the living room and fled the apartment in a Silver Cavalier. A Manatee Avenue West bank was robbed Tuesday morning, and the suspect is still on the loose, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said First Bank, 4601 Manatee Ave. W., was robbed at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday and that the suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money.
