A suspect who was accused of purposely driving his car into a sheriff's office vehicle has been charged with attempted murder after the deputy sustained injuries in the crash. The crash happened Friday as detectives were attempting to arrest Jonathan Soloman for a felony warrant. Detectives from the Manatee County Sheriff's Officer were conducting surveillance in the 3800 block of 8th St. Ct. E., in search of Soloman who was wanted on a felony warrant. When he saw the detectives Soloman tried to speed off and smashed his vehicle into Sgt. Pete Rampone's vehicle while Rampone was still in it. A man with several outstanding arrest warrants has been caught and arrested on charges of attempted murder following a drive-by shooting near DeSoto Square Mall that left three men injured early Sunday morning. The three men ages 19, 20 and 21 were in a car travelling north on First Street passing Desoto Square mall at 3:30 a.m. when another vehicle came up from behind. As they turned east onto 301 Boulevard shots were filed at their car, hitting all three men. Tarvin Martiin, 24, has been charged with attempted murder and fleeing to elude in the Sunday morning shooting. The man is charged with shooting two people at the Siesta Inn Motel
Manatee County Deputies arrested a man on two counts of attempted murder after responding to a shooting call to the Siesta Inn and Suites. Once they arrived deputies found Michael Ploetz, 24, in one of the rooms suffering from a gun shot wound. Deputies arrested Daniel Spann, 28, at the motel. Spann was accused of shooting Ploetz during an argument at the Siesta Inn, 2303 1st St. E. Ploetz was taken to Blake Hospital at about 10:30 p.m. for treatment of the gunshot wound. His condition is unknown at this time. Spann is also charged with shooting at Keith McCarty, 22. McCarty was not injured.

Bradenton Police have arrested a 50-year-old man and a 22-year-old-man on charges of attempted murder after a Sunday afternoon confrontation ended in gunfire that left one man wounded. The shooting took place in the 400 block of 10th Avenue East shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday when Miguel Gutierrez and a 31-year-old man were arguing, according to a Bradenton Police report. During the confrontation someone in the area handed Gutierez a small caliber revolver. According to the report, the victim saw the gun and pushed Gutierrez to the ground. That's when Gutierrez shot the gun, hitting the victim in the leg. The single bullet traveled through both of the victim’s legs.
