I-75 Open After Beer Truck Crashes Into Manatee River

The truck driver lost control and plunged over the J.D. Young Bridge early Thursday morning near the Ellenton Premium Outlets.

All lanes of Interstate 75 are open and a truck driver is in stable condition after a beer truck crashed into the concrete retaining wall of a bridge and landed in the Manatee River, authorities said Thursday morning. The tractor trailer was headed north on I-75 at the J.D. Young Bridge, which crosses the river near the Ellenton Premium Outlets, around 4:30 a.m. when the driver lost control, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. The driver, 40-year-old Kevin Dennison, of Largo, was standing on top of the cab as the vehicle was partially submerged in the water when emergency personnel arrived, FOX 13 Tampa Bay reports.  Dennison was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton with serious injuries, according to the FHP. Bradenton Woman Seriously Injured in U.S. 41 Traffic Crash

Investigators say the woman lost control of her car at Braden Avenue near the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and struck a brick planter wall.

A Bradenton woman was seriously injured in a traffic crash on U.S. 41 at Braden Avenue, across from the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, after she lost control of her car Thursday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. According to investigators, the driver of a red Toyota was headed southbound on 41 around 10:53 p.m. when she spun out of control and struck a brick planter wall on the west shoulder. After striking the wall, the Toyota rolled back into the southbound lanes of 41. The driver of a Chevy Metro that had been following behind steered to the left, lost control and was hit in its left front side by a Pontiac Sunbird headed in the opposite direction.
