Floridacentral Credit Union
941-758-4422
Newly relocated from 4515 5th St. West, this brand-new bank branch is located smack in Bradenton's downtown.
Founded in 1958 as Tampa Central Credit Union, TCCU served as a credit union for the managers and board members of other credit unions because, at that time, board members and managers were not allowed to belong to the credit union in which they served.
Once that regulation was changed, TCCU expanded membership to allow inclusion of Select Employee Groups (SEGs) and geographically branched as far east as Orlando, prompting the name change to Florida Central Credit Union.
In 2006 FCCU undertook a new branding effort which included the name change to Floridacentral Credit Union. In 2007, FCU merged with St. Petersburg Municipal Employees Credit Union which further increased its membership base.
FCU currently serves nearly 39,000 members and more than 1,000 SEGs with nine west-central Florida branches.
