Anna Maria Island Privateers is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting activities and programs for area youth. Members dress as pirates and host fundraising events throughout the year including Snook Adams Kids Day, the Whitey Horton Golf Tournament and Christmas and 4th of July parades with proceeds used for scholarships and other special events. Individuals interested in joining must be sponsored by a "black shirt" member and attend at least two meetings to be eligible. General membership meetings are held at the Annie Silver Community Center.
