Tickets are now on sale for a special concert in Bradenton featuring the Liverpool Legends Beatles Tribute band, which is organized by Louise Harrison.
In May Patch brought you the story about how Louise Harrison, a Sarasota resident and sister of famed Beatle George Harrison, this fall to help integrate arts education into classrooms.
Now the time has come for the concerts with the high schoolers.
The at . Tickets are $25 and proceeds from advertisements in the evening programs go toward the high school's music program as part of Harrison's Help Keep Music Alive non-profit's mission.
“The work of the schools in integrating the arts is critical to ensuring all students are given opportunities to learn,” said Terry Osborn, Ph.D., dean and professor, College of Education. “Our Center for Partnerships for Arts-Integrated Teaching (PAInT) is taking a stand and highlighting a particular asset of our region: our artistic and cultural strengths.”
Other concerts for the Grammy-nominated group are at North Port High on Oct. 4 and Booker High in Sarasota on Oct. 6.
