Actor Brings Star Power to Bradenton Golf Tournament

Armand Assante will participate in the Phil Galvano Golf Classic to raise money for Manatee County Schools.

Armand Assante has taken part in more than 100 movies and television shows, including American Gangster, The Marrying Man and The Mambo Kings. He's played a spy in the television series Chuck and has played John Gotti in a television movie.

Now he's made the Manatee Education Foundation an offer they just can't refuse.

The Emmy Award-winning actor will bring star power to the 16th annual Phil Galvano Golf Classic designed to raise money for Manatee County’s Public Schools through the Manatee Education Foundation.

The Education Foundation is looking for sponsors for the event. Top sponsors will have the opportunity to meet Assante at an exclusive lunch.

This year’s tournament will be held on May 18 at the Legacy Golf Club at Lakewood Ranch. Sponsorships are currently available in the following three levels: Eagle Sponsors $15,000; Birdie Sponsors $10,000; and Community Sponsors $2,500.

Eagle Sponsors will have the opportunity to socialize with Assante and participate a private round of golf with Bill Galvano, a former member of the Florida House of Representatives, on Thursday, May 17 at the Long Boat Key Club and Resort.

A New York City native, Assante has been a well known actor for many years. He started his career with movie and TV roles in the 1970’s before getting his break starring opposite Sylvester Stalone in Paradise Alley in 1978. His Emmy award winning performance as Mafia boss John Gotti was followed by appearances on shows like NCIS and ER, along with movie roles in films such as American Gangster in 2007 and Breaking Point in 2009. He also has four films scheduled to premiere in 2012.
