Teens Earn 60 Community Service Hours!!

Teens Earn 60 Community Service Hours

Education First Exchange Student Company is searching for  dependable, enthusiastic host families for exchange students who want to come to Florida to improve their English skills and learn about American culture by staying with a real American family for a few weeks.

Bradenton/Sarasota Area, July 6 - 30, 2013: 25 French and 25 Spanish Students

Your Teen will earn 60 community service hours for hosting an international student in your home. Don't have a teen who needs the hours but this sounds like some thing you would enjoy? You can apply too!

A host family is allowed to host one French and one Spanish student if you have the room. This is an immersion program. The exchange students learn by being totally immersed in an English speaking home. So the student becomes a real member of your family. You can even travel with them if your family has a planned vacation.

EF knows host families love to travel too! Host families can earn one EF passport sticker for each student they host in their home. These stickers can be accumulated and used as travel money for your family.

If you sign up before Feb. 28 the host family will earn an extra passport sticker. We also have discounts for your teens to travel abroad after they host a student.

So what is a host families obligation?

Host families provide the student a bed, students can share a bedroom with the host family teens but must have their own bed. Three meals a day and transportation to weekly planned EF events/field trips. Host families can attend these fun events also.

And of course we want you to talk to them. We don't want you to feel like a tour
guide for them. We want you to live your normal life so they can see what life
in America is like!

Host families get to read profiles and see photos of the students and choose one that would fit well in their family.  We want this to be an amazing experience for you and your exchange student. So we want you to have a lot in common with the exchange student. So the earlier you apply the more choices to pick the perfect student.Once you are matched to a student you are allowed to start emailing them and get to know them before they arrive.

Students are fully medically insured and bring their own spending money. You will have access to an EF Program Leader 24/7 while the students are here and you will attend an orientation meeting a few weeks before the students arrive. You get to meet the other host families and learn about the EF experience.
