Complete Nutrition Exploring Opening Bradenton Store

Health and wellness stores are plentiful in Manatee County, and there is always room for another.

Omaha, Nebraska-based Complete Nutrition announced that it is scouting locations for a third store in the Sarasota/Bradenton market within the next year. 

Complete Nutrition markets itself as an upscale health and wellness store with consultants helping customers figure out what supplements, nutrition programs and food they should try to target weight loss or strength and endurance training.

"There appears just from our initial results from our first two stores an active lifestyle in Sarasota and health-conscious minded people, and that really feeds into our consultative approach," said Steve Brewster, director of development for Complete Nutrition.

The chain already has stores at 3800 S. Tamiami Trail, beside Einstein Bagel Bros., and at 81 N. Cattleman Road in the University Town Center. The company wants to expand from 171 locations to 300 in three years, nearly doubling its current footprint. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Mike Alstott is also the company’s national spokesman.

Brewster and his team are reviewing locations and are figuring out where to open in Sarasota or Bradenton.

What makes Complete Nutrition different from other health stores is that the customer service is based on having consultants available to talk about choices and what to take and not take.

"A lot of our consultants in our stores are ex-athletes, ex-trainers and some of them are still involved, still doing personal training," Brewster said, adding that others are also dietitians and nutritionists, spending sometimes 45 minutes with a customer.

"We try to understand people's goals. We try to set them up on a kit. We have kits and systems to help achieve their goals," he said, adding that there is no "magic pill" and the store won't try to push something as being one either. 

The store is made for anyone from athletes to folks trying to start on a solid diet plan.

"We like to inspire life change," he said.
