Would You Like To See a Bus Route to Lakewood Ranch?

Officials are considering the possibility of creating a MCAT route into Lakewood Ranch and they want to know what you think about the idea.

The Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold an open house on Monday, Aug. 12, at the Manatee County Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Boulevard, from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. to discuss the possibility of bus routes to and from Lakewood Ranch.

Residents are encouraged to attend the workshop and provide input.

The MPO is conducting a study to develop a set of potential transit route options to and from Lakewood Ranch for residents in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Tindale Oliver, the project consultant, polled Lankewood Ranch residents over the summer on potential routes. Oliver has also met with several school and business owners to get a better idea of the traveling needs of employees and students who travel to Lakewood Ranch for work or school.
