Temporary Lane Closures Scheduled for SR 64 in Bradenton

A resurfacing project is underway on SR 64 from Carlton Arms Boulevard to West I-75; the undertaking requires the temporary closure of the inside lanes on eastbound and westbound SR 64.

Work continues Monday through Saturday on a resurfacing project affecting the existing roadway and expanding stretch from four to six lanes.

The project also includes adding five-foot paved bike lanes, building curb and gutter with drainage swales, constructing sidewalks, planting landscaping, and replacing existing traffic signals with mast arms and concrete poles, according to a report.

The left turn lane on eastbound SR 64 into Rivers Edge Shopping Plaza will be closed throughout the week. Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for construction workers in the construction zone. Project completion is expected in fall 2013. The contractor is Better Roads, Inc.
