Manatee Avenue Construction Project Continues

Contractor will continue to install curb and sidewalk and make storm drainage improvements.

The Manatee Avenue construction project continues this week and is on schedule to be completed in August.

The Florida Department of Transporation says the contractor will continue work on Manatee Avenue (State Route 64), by installing curb and sidewalk, removing and installing storm drainage structures in various locations throughout the project, removing grass and grading the ground, and laying sod.

Paving is due to start in a couple weeks from Carlton Arms Boulevard to 43rd Street Boulevard. Traffic will be shifted during the paving process.

This is part of the larger $5.9 million project where FDOT expanded Manatee Avenue from four to six lanes, adding five-foot paved bike lanes over the last year, and continuing with sewer work east of Carlton Arms Boulevard to west of Interstate 75.

The contractor is Better Roads, Inc.
