UPDATE: One Dead; One Injured in Bradenton Shooting

Two people were rushed to the hospital after being shot in east Bradenton in the middle of the afternoon on Thursday. One of the men is now dead.

One man is dead and another injured as a result of a shooting that occurred on the 4300 block of Eighth Street Court East around 2:25 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The victims, Lytreeon Collins, 31, and Markeith Laws, 18,  were transported the the hospital, according to a press release, however, Collins died as a result of a stomach injury.

Laws, who suffered a bullet wound to the leg is expected to live, authorities said.

The two men were reportedly sitting outside the residence when a gold car pulled up in front of the home. Two suspects got out of the vehicles and opened fire, a report states.

Detectives are working on several leads on the case, however, no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting, a report said. Authorities said it is unclear at this time if the shooting is related to any of the others that have recently occurred.
