Son Stabs Suspect Beating His Father, Deputies Say

Investigators say that 18-year-old Justin Snyder grabbed a knife when he saw his father being beaten outside their home.

An 18-year-old Bradenton man allegedly stabbed another man who was beating his father in the front yard of their home.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the incident, which occurred late Sunday night on the 3800 block of 58th Street West.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, 46-year-old Leo Snyder was in his front yard with a friend, when a pickup pulled up with five men, who got out of the truck.

Two of the men – Brandon Lloyd and Michael Harrington – allegedly started beating Snyder, according to investigators.

Justin Snyder, 18, was inside the home when he heard the commotion. Deputies said he grabbed a knife and ran outside, where he allegedly stabbed Lloyd, 22, in the torso.

Lloyd then ran to his truck and grabbed a baseball bat, causing Snyder and his father to run inside the house and call 911.

Harrington, Lloyd and the three other men fled from the scene and were stopped by responding deputies.  EMS transported Lloyd to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Harrington was arrested and charged with battery and driving while license suspended.

According to investigators, Lloyd faces battery and aggravated assault charges. Snyder faces an aggravated battery charge.
