Sheriff: Bradenton Man Used Computer to Solicit Sex With Teen
A Bradenton man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly contacting a 15-year-old girl on the internet, then traveling to have sex with her, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Bed Xavier, 21, 4400 block of 56th Avenue Terrace East, was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery; one for using a computer to solicit a child for a sex act and one for traveling to commit a sex act with a child after he walked to meet up with the girl, but instead encountered detectives from the MCSO.
According to the report, the 15-year-old told authorities on Tuesday that she had engaged in consensual sex with Xavier on two separate occasions. The latest incident occurring Friday Sept. 13 at the victim's home, a report said.
Detectives began monitoring the victim's text messaging and arranged to meet up with Xavier at a predetermined location using her phone. When Xavier arrived, he was arrested.
Detectives confiscated several electronic devices from Xavier's home as evidence.
Records indicate that Xavier was charged for the same crime last year, and is currently on probation for an unrelated gun charge.
