Sheena Morris Case to Be Re-Opened

Investigators will look into whether the 22-year-old woman killed herself or was a victim of foul play.

The police investigation into Sheena Morris' hanging death will be re-opened, Bradenton Beach Police said Friday.

Bay News 9 is reporting that the Bradenton Beach Police Department agreed to open the case again after a state law enforcement panel recommended it.

Morris, 22, was found hanging in a Bradenton Beach hotel room on Jan. 1, 2009. Although local police ruled her death a suicide, the family has lobbied for addition investigation, believing it may have been foul play.

According to Bay News 9:

Morris' mom, Kelly Osborn, says she's never believed her daughter killed herself. Osborn has been fighting to get the case reopened for years, doing everything she could in her search for answers.

"I didn't know I was going to learn the process of how to exhume a body, how to get all these reports, how to do surveillance, how to get people to talk that you don't even know," Osborn said.
