Police: Man Tries to Lure Girl With Teddy Bear

The following is a press release from the Bradenton Police Department: 


On Friday, November 8th, 2013, at approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 Block of 23rd Avenue West to investigate a Suspicious Circumstance. 

During the investigation they were advised that a young juvenile was playing near her residence when she was approached by an unknown older White Male. The unknown White Male held out a teddy bear as he spoke to the juvenile. A parent of the juvenile observed what was taking place and started to approach the subject at which time he drove off. 

The unknown White Male was described as being approximately 55-65 years old with no facial hair and a bald spot on his head. The vehicle he was operating was described as grey Mercury Grand Marquis. No further information could be provided.
