Police: Man Bound and Robbed Women in Bradenton

A Sarasota man has been charged with armed robbery and kidnapping after he allegedly bound two women with packing tape and robbed them in their Bradenton home.

A Sarasota man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly robbed two women at knife point, then bound them with packing tape while inside their home, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Brain K. Kirsch, 30, 500 block of Kumquat Court, Sarasota, was charged with battery on a person 65 years or older, battery, kidnapping, grand theft auto and two counts each of armed robbery, aggravated assault and false imprisonment after he entered his aunt’s home then allegedly robbed her and another woman around 9:30 p.m.

The victims told deputies that Kirsch came to their condo and asked to use the telephone, according to a report. After his phone conversation, he pulled a knife and bound the two women, 49 and 74, with clear packaging tape, the report states.

The victims told police Kirsch demanded their purses, taking money, credit cards, a cell phone and car keys. He also fled the condominium in one of the victims’ cars, a report said. 

One of the vcictims was able to get to a neighbors house and call 911, according to the report.

Kirsh was later apprehended by the Sarasota Police Department for driving a stolen vehicle.
