UPDATE: Man Shot to Death While Watching Youth Football Practice in Bradenton

The man was singled out and killed by two gunmen in front of hundreds of people during Manatee Mustangs youth football practice at the 13th Avenue Dream Center in Bradenton, police say.

A 39-year-old man was fatally shot by two gunmen as 300 to 400 people were watching a youth football practice at a Bradenton park.

Bradenton Police are investigating the shooting, which Brenton D. Coleman Sr. dead. It is the sixth homicide in the city of Bradenton in 2013.

Police say two gunmen "with their identities concealed" signaled out Coleman sometime around 8 p.m. Thursday during the first practice of the year for the Manatee Mustangs youth football team.

At one point, Coleman fell to the ground, at which point he was killed with a shotgun, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man was shot and killed in front of hundreds of people as he watched a youth football practice Thursday night in Bradenton, Bay News 9 reports.

The shooting happened just after 8 p.m. Thursday at the 13th Avenue Dream Center, 922 24th St E., the news station reports, citing Bradenton Police.

The victim, Brenton Coleman Sr., was shot as he ran away from several men with guns who ran across the parking lot toward him, according to the news station.

The shooting happened as family and friends were picking up their children after Manatee Mustangs youth football practice, the Bradenton Herald reported, citing Lt. James Racky of the Bradenton Police Department.

Coleman died at the park, Bay News 9 reports. There were no other injuries.
