Man Robbed, Beaten Behind Oneco Rose Bar: Deputies

Two suspects fled the scene after pistol whipping the man and stealing his cell phone, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A 31-year-old man was beaten and robbed as he was talking on his phone behind the Oneco Rose bar in Bradenton on Friday night.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, the victim was at the bar, located at 5108 15th Street E., with his girlfriend when he stepped out back to take a phone call.

Authorities say while the man was outside, he went behind some bushes to urinate; there, he was immediately grabbed by two males wearing dark clothing, who proceeded to beat him.

According to the sheriff's report, one of the men had a pistol and he struck the victim on the head with the gun, knocking him to the ground.

After demanding money and the man's car keys, the suspects went through his wallet, found there was no money in it and threw it on the ground, deputies say.

The suspects then took the victim's wallet and fled through a cemetery.

Deputies tracked the suspects using canines, but they were not located.

The suspects were described as "probably black males, wearing brown bandannas over their faces, about 5’9 to 5”10” tall wearing all dark clothing with one of them having a dark ball cap on his head."
