Man Found Lying Dead in Duplex Parking Lot

The 46-year-old appears to have been shot to death while heading out on his way to work.

A 46-year-old Bradenton man was found shot to death in the parking lot of a duplex complex early this morning.

A neighbor found Melvin Turner lying in the parking lot in the 700 block of 61st Avenue East and called the Manatee Sheriff's Office at about 5:45 this morning.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's report Turner appeared to be have a gunshot wound. Detectives are investigating, however a motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.

Detectives believe the victim was on his way to work at a local day employment agency.
