Gunshots Fired From Volkswagen, Suspects Sought

Deputies are looking for a black Volkswagen with a gray stripe and tinted windows.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in identifying the suspects who fired shots from a black four-door Volkswagen on Wednesday as the car drove along the 4500 block of 19th Street Circle West in Bradenton.

The distinctive-looking vehicle is described as a a 2000-01 Volkswagen with a missing front passenger hubcap. The four-door car has a gray stripe across the lower part of the vehicle and dark-tinted windows.

Two men were in the car as it drove past a home on the block, at about 9 p.m., Wednesday, May 8. One of the men was heard to shout, “South Side!” and then two gunshots were fired.

A witness saw the incident and provided information on the shooter and the suspect vehicle. Deputies recovered two shell casings from the street. No injuries or property damage resulted from the shooting.  Gang Unit detectives responded to assist with the investigation.
