Fugitive Arrested in Orlando

Haywood Edouard was wanted for felony murder and armed robbery.

The U.S. Marshal's Office captured a 22-year-old suspect from Manatee County wanted for felony murder and armed robbery.

Haywood Edouard was arrested in Orlando and charged in the fatal shooting Aug. 5 of Ernest Curry.  

On Aug. 5, Edouard and Curry, 21, were taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.  Curry was later pronounced dead while Edouard was treated and released.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Edouard, Curry and a third person tried to rob someone during a drug deal in the 2600 block of 6th St. E., Bradenton. 

A fight ensued, with Curry and Edouard shot by the person they were trying to rob.

At this time, the shooter will not be charged as he was acting in self defense.
