Detectives on a Man Hunt

A 22-year-old is wanted on charges of armed robbery and felony murder as a result of a drug deal in which one man was killed.

Manatee County detectives are searching for a 22-year-old man wanted on felony murder and armed robbery charges.

Haywood Edouard, is wanted in connection with an Aug. 5 fatal shooting. That day Edouard and Ernest Curry, 22, were taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.  Curry was later pronounced dead while Edouard was treated and released. 

 Subsequent investigation revealed that Edouard, Curry and a third person tried to rob another person during a drug deal in the 2600 block of 6th St. E., according to the Manatee County Sheriff's report. The three men fought and Curry and Edouard were shot.

According to the sheriff's report, the shooter will not be charged at this time, because he was acting in self defense. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Edouard is asked to call the sheriff's office at 941-747-3011, ext. 2513 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
