Deputies Search For Man Who Robbed Smuggler's Cove

Detectives have surveillance video of the suspect

Deputies are searching for an armed robbery suspect who forced a clerk standing outside Smuggler's Cove into the miniature golf center's office, telling her to empty the cash register.

Fortunately for detectives the office in Smuggler's Cove has surveillance cameras. Deputies are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to call them.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff's report:

The 56-year-old clerk was outside by the picnic table at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday night when she was approached by the suspect. He forced her back into the office and had her empty the cash drawer.

The man, described as white, 5-feet-10 inches, 230 pounds and wearing a black hat, red Bandana gray shirt and shorts, ran north through the parking lot. A K-9 unit from the sheriff's office responded and tracked the suspect to the rear of the Chinese buffet in the adjacent parking lot, but then lost track of him.
