Deputies: K-9 Catches Bayshore High Trespasser

Several juvenile suspects were caught trespassing on school grounds Thursday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A juvenile was bitten by a sheriff's K-9 after several underage suspects were caught trespassing at Bayshore High School in Bradenton on Thursday night, authorities said.

Deputies were called to the school, at 5401 34th St. W., just after midnight for a burglary in progress. When they got there, they surrounded the area and saw "several juveniles" on school grounds, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

After the deputies announced their presence, three of the juveniles fled on foot. A K-9 caught up with one of the suspects and bit the juvenile on the leg and arm.

The other two juveniles fleeing on foot stopped and were apprehended without any further incident, deputies said.

The bite victim was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The juveniles were not identified in the sheriff's report.
