Bradenton Man Shot in Thighs During an Argument

Two identified suspects fled the scene, leaving their bicycles behind, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

A man was shot twice in the legs Friday afternoon in Bradenton after he got into an argument with two men who were passing by on bicycles, authorities report.

The 34-year-old victim was outside a residence in the 3500 block of Ninth Street East, in the West Samoset area, around 3:10 p.m. when the two unidentified men rode by on bikes on the opposite side of the street, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.

The three men got into an argument for some unknown reason, according to a sheriff's report, when one of the men on bicycles pulled out a hand gun and fired at the victim, striking him in the backs of both thighs.

The two suspects then fled, leaving their bikes behind.

There was no immediate word on the victim's condition.
